The Nature of Life
During the first month of school we focus on reviewing the basics. We discuss the steps of the scientific method, learn all about the different types of microscopes, the characteristics of living things, and then focus on biochemistry.
Do you know the difference between the independent and dependent variable? What is a control group? Click on me to learn more!
In class we'll be using 2 microscopes: the compound light microscope & the stereomicroscope. But we will be learning about other various scopes, in class, as well.
Learn all about organic compounds, such as lipids, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, and proteins. Enzymes are also covered under this topic.
What do all living things have in common? What characteristic do you share with a mushroom or a giant kelp?
